AI Agent Development & Engineering · Dubai · Sharjah · UAE

AI agents that make it past the prototype.

WalQalum is an AI agent development company in Dubai. We design, ship and run production AI systems — agents, RAG platforms and automation pipelines — on fifteen years of real software engineering.

01 / Position

Fifteen years of production engineering, applied only where AI earns its place.

Most AI initiatives stall between the demo and the deployment. We close that gap. Applied AI on fifteen years of production engineering, so the agent that impressed the board still runs, audited and monitored, a year later.

02 / Capabilities

01.

Six disciplines, one team. This is what an AI agent development company in Dubai actually builds, and every engagement draws on all of them.

01

AI Agents & Automation

Autonomous and semi-autonomous agents that run real operations: triage, research, reporting, workflow orchestration, with guardrails and audit trails built in.

02

LLM Integration & RAG Systems

Language models grounded in your documents and data. Retrieval pipelines, evaluation harnesses and versioned prompts, not a thin wrapper around an API.

03

Machine Learning Engineering

Models trained, served and monitored as production software: feature pipelines, drift detection, rollback paths.

04

Data Intelligence

The layer AI depends on: warehouses, pipelines and decision dashboards that make your data usable before anything clever touches it.

05

Custom Software & SaaS

Fifteen years of product engineering. Web platforms, internal tools and SaaS products built to outlive their launch.

06

Cloud & DevOps

Infrastructure as code, CI/CD, observability and cost control across AWS, Azure and GCP.

03 / How we work

Four steps. No theatre.

STEP 01

Discover

We audit your data, workflows and constraints, and tell you plainly what AI can and cannot do for them.

STEP 02

Prototype

A working system on your real data within weeks, measured against success criteria we agree up front.

STEP 03

Ship

Hardening for production: evals, monitoring, access control, failure modes handled before launch day.

STEP 04

Scale

Extend across teams and geographies. We hand over cleanly or stay on as your engineering partner.

04 / Selected work

Built, shipped, running.

AI agents, document intelligence and data platforms, delivered across the UAE, Pakistan and Australia.

06 / FAQ

Questions we get asked.

What does an AI agent development company in Dubai actually do?

It builds software that acts, not just answers. An AI agent development company designs autonomous and semi-autonomous systems that reason over a goal, call your internal tools and APIs, and complete a task end to end — triage, research, reporting, reconciliation. The engineering that matters is the part around the model: guardrails, evaluation harnesses, access control and audit trails.

How much does it cost to develop an AI agent in the UAE?

Cost is driven by how many systems the agent must touch and how tightly it is regulated, not by the model. A single-workflow agent over one clean data source is a matter of weeks. An agent operating across several systems in a regulated sector, with human sign-off and a full audit trail, runs into months. We scope against success criteria agreed before any code ships.

Why do most AI pilots never reach production?

Because accountability sits between two contracts. A strategy firm writes the plan and leaves; a build firm discovers later that the plan assumed data nobody had. Nobody owns the gap. Research across the Middle East puts the failure rate high: the large majority of AI agent pilots never reach production, and only around one in five organisations report mature governance for autonomous systems.

What makes WalQalum different from a typical AI consultancy?

Fifteen years of production software engineering behind every recommendation, and both halves of the contract in one team. We only propose AI where it earns its place, and we build it to run unattended a year later rather than to demo well. That costs us projects and earns us clients.

Do you work with our existing engineering team?

Yes. Most engagements run alongside an in-house team rather than replacing it. We work in your repositories, your cloud account and your ticketing system. Engagements end either in a clean handover with documentation and runbooks, or in an embedded partnership where we stay on as your AI engineering function.

Where does our data live, and who holds the keys?

In your cloud account, under your keys, with the audit trail in your control. We treat vendor lock-in as a design failure. For UAE clients in regulated sectors this also matters legally: sector rules from the Central Bank, DHA and DoH, and the health data law, effectively require residency for financial, health and government data.

Can you build AI that complies with the UAE PDPL?

Yes, and it shapes the architecture from the first week rather than being added at the end. Article 18 of Federal Decree-Law 45/2021 restricts automated decisions that carry legal or similarly significant effect, which covers most agent behaviour. We design for a human decision point, a recorded rationale and an exportable audit trail. Full PDPL compliance is required by 1 January 2027.

How long does a typical engagement take?

A working prototype on your real data lands within weeks, not quarters. Production hardening — evaluations, monitoring, access control and failure modes — is the longer half, and it is measured against success criteria we agree before any code ships. We would rather tell you in week three that the data is not there than in month nine.

Which industries do you build AI for in the UAE?

Eight sectors, concentrated in ones that already operate under rules: healthcare, finance, real estate, retail and commerce, education, manufacturing, fintech, and legal and professional services. We work in regulated sectors by preference, because the constraints come from the regulator rather than from the technology.

Do you work in Arabic?

Yes. Arabic is a first-class language here, not a translation layer. Every page of this site exists in Arabic with full right-to-left layout, and we build Arabic-language retrieval and agent systems, including the tokenisation and evaluation work that Arabic text actually requires.
